A nice gift for baby showers, new mums & first birthdays

I adore the poem, gives me a huge smile every time I read it!

A few weeks ago, my dear friend Lucy surprised me with a gift that was as unexpected as appreciated. “I saw it and thought of you, I’m sure you’ll like it.”

No, I don’t like it. I love it, the idea, the poem, the sweetness, everything! And that’s why it gained its place on our crazy wall.

I absolutely love this kind of artistic expressions by people like me and you. People who believe so much in their art as to share it with everybody. People who believe so much in themselves as to think their art is something to share with everybody. Most of the times, they’re right. Unfortunately, they’re rare gems and that’s exactly why when we find one, we need to share it, share it, share it.

Today’s rare gem is Mercedes Lopez Charro.

She worked for te years shaping silver into beautiful jewels at Mimo Silver, until two years ago she developed a low-cost jewellery brand whose muse was Lola Lola, an imaginary girl who loves fashion and whom Mercedes drew behind every package of jewellery.

Guided by her muse, she started posting her illustrations on Instagram and, as they say, the rest is history.

I think some of her illustrations would be absolutely perfect as a gift to a pregnant friend or new mums, for christenings or little ones’ first birthdays. And if you’re indecisive, Mercedes also offers a gift voucher (in the photos below).
